05 / Therapies in Islamabad & Rawalpindi

Acupuncture, dry needling & cupping.

Discuss assessed therapies, cupping/hijama and physiotherapy support around your needs. Clinic and home sessions can be arranged after confirming the appropriate method, practitioner and setting.

ASSESSMENT FIRST

A suitable method. A clear plan.

Confirm the clinician, expected benefit, relevant precautions and charges before treatment.

What you can discuss

Different methods, chosen after assessment.

The appropriate treatment depends on the concern and the available practitioner's training.

Acupuncture

Fine needles at selected points. The proposed treatment and appropriately trained practitioner are confirmed after assessment.

Dry needling

Fine solid needles used for assessed muscle concerns within a physiotherapy plan. No medication is injected.

Cupping / hijama

Dry cupping uses suction on intact skin. Wet cupping / hijama involves skin breaks and needs a separate suitability and hygiene review.

Kinesiology taping

Temporary taping support may be discussed for sport or movement, alongside an assessed physiotherapy plan.

Start with the situation

Support shaped around your needs.

These are assessment routes, not promises that one treatment suits every condition.

Muscle & joint concerns

Discuss pain, stiffness or reduced movement and whether physiotherapy or an adjunct therapy is appropriate.

Sports & movement support

Review the movement concern, activity goals and whether exercise or taping belongs in the plan.

Rehabilitation & recovery

Physiotherapy support may be discussed after surgery, following a stroke, for facial palsy (laqwa), or for children with cerebral palsy. An individual rehabilitation plan is reviewed; needle or cupping treatment is not assumed to be the right approach.

Session arrangements

Clinic or home, with the details agreed.

Ask about daytime appointment slots from 9am to 5pm. Dates, location and practitioner availability are confirmed before booking.

Clinic sessions

The care desk confirms the appointment location, suitable method and available practitioner.

Home sessions

Islamabad or Rawalpindi visits depend on clinical suitability, location, safe treatment arrangements and availability.

Meet a practitioner

Relevant training. A practical assessment.

What to expect

Discuss. Assess. Agree.

01

Share your needs

Tell the care desk your general concern, area and preferred session setting.

02

Review suitability

The clinician discusses the appropriate method, precautions and alternatives privately.

03

Confirm the plan

Agree the treatment, setting, charges and consent before a session begins.

Before needle or wet-cupping treatment

Tell the practitioner about medicines, bleeding risks, skin problems, pregnancy or recent surgery. Ask about relevant risks, single-use supplies and hygiene. Cupping benefits are uncertain; suitability and consent come first.

Are acupuncture and dry needling the same?

They may use similar fine needles, but their assessment frameworks and proposed treatment approach differ. Ask the practitioner which method is suitable and why.

Is wet cupping / hijama available?

It can be discussed with the care desk. The practitioner, suitability, hygiene arrangements and appropriate setting are confirmed separately before booking.
